[?] all my impatience, my dear Lord & Savior
<emotion>gave me to feel his peace in a rich measure;</emotion> that
I could converse with as familiarly as one friend
with another. In <date>1747</date> <persname>B</persname><hi rend="superscript"><persname>r</persname></hi><persname>. & S</persname><hi rend="superscript"><persname>r</persname></hi><persname>. Grasman</persname> went
to the Synod at <placename>Herrnhaag</placename>, and I wrote a Letter
begging permission to come to the Cong<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>. My late
dear Husband <persname> John Agidius Steeman</persname> was upon
a visit at the Synod with the same intention:
He was the Danish Governor of <placename>Helgeland</placename>: but
had been for many years in <sic>connexion</sic> <corr>connection</corr> with the
B<hi rend="superscript">rns</hi>. Cong<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>., and had a house in <placename>Pilgerruh</placename>.
where he counted it a pleasure to lodge the B<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">rn</hi></hi><hi rend="superscript"></hi> &
S<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></hi><hi rend="superscript"></hi> on their <sic>Journies</sic> <corr>Journeys</corr> to & from <persname>Livonia</persname>, & where
he & his family lived, whenever their circumstances
allowed it, until the Cong<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>. was removed from
thence. He had likewise constantly had a B<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. and
S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. from the Cong<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>. residing with him at <placename>Helgeland</placename>
Now he was become a Widower, his only Child
was in the Cong<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>., and he wished to be dismissed
from his office, in order to be able to retire to the
Cong<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>. at <placename>Hernhaag</placename>, The proposal was made to
him to marry me, if it should meet with his
approbation; but he not being able to resolve upon
it <sic>immeadiatelty</sic> <corr>immediately</corr>, it was [?] till the following
year, when it was proposed to me by B<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. & S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.
