and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savi=
=our Jesus Christ. It is true that He alone
can effectually <sic>releive</sic>  <corr>relieve</corr> the distressed soul, but
it is our duty to use the appointed means.
I need scarcely say, that from this time, a
great change took place in my heart, and that
for a season, <emotion>I felt inexpressibly happy</emotion>: my
soul did truly magnify the Lord, and my
Spirit rejoiced in God my Savior. I now
saw and <sic>beleived</sic>  <corr>believed</corr>, that the blood of Jesus
Christ, shed on Calvary; was not only a foun=
=tain once opened for sin and uncleanness, but 
that it is a never failing stream to which poor
sinners may daily apply: that notwithstand=
=ing all their defilements of the flesh and of
the spirit, they may wash here and be clean.
What a precious truth! and how exactly suited to 
my need! My only wish now was, to be the en=
=tire property of Him who had done so much 
for me, and to devote my self to him, with spi=
=rit, soul, and body. - "As I am so take me,
