The following are his own Words.
I am born in <placename>Bohemia</placename> at the <placename>Village Radbori</placename> in the <placename><unclear>Cirle</unclear></placename>
of <placename>Czaslaw</placename>. My Vater who had some knowledge of the Word
of God, advised & brought me up, as much as in his Power &
according to his best Judgment to Religion & instructed me
that I must <sic>lern</sic>  <corr>learn</corr> to know our Lord Christ Jesus. After I
got the New Testament & other prostestant Books in my
Hand, I very often was touchd in my Heart & embarrasd
about my eternal Salvation. But as I couldn't see
how to come through in my Mother Country I soon resolvd
to emigrate cost what it will, only to get Liberty of
Conciense & to enjoy my <sic>happyness</sic>  <corr>happiness</corr> according to my Wish.
For that reason I went <date>1734</date> from <placename>Bohemia</placename> & by good
Luck, came without molestation to <placename>Henersdorf</placename>, where
I <persname>Magister Waneck</persname> to the true blessing of my Heart heard
to preach. From thence I went to <placename>Berlin</placename>, but found there
nothing for my Heart & resolv'd to to go in my Mother
Country back again. However the <sic>restlessnes</sic>  <corr>restlessness</corr> of my Heart
