(The following is his own Account of himself)
I am born <date>1738. the 31</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>st</date></hi><date>. of October</date> at <placename>Bertholsdorf</placename>. About
in my 6<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>. Year I was sent to the School of the Brethren, but
there it would't go well, because I was in a dangerous Situ,
ation.<date> A</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>o</date></hi><date>. 1746 the 9th. of Jul.</date> my Parents moved towards
<placename>Hhuth</placename>, this I <sic>licked</sic>  <corr>liked</corr> but did't know for that Time why.
I came there in the Children Anstalt & <sic>feeld</sic>  <corr>felt</corr> <sic>especialy</sic>  <corr>especially</corr>
in the Children Meetings, the Work of the holy ghost in
my Heart. <date>A</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>o</date></hi><date>. 48.</date> I was receiv<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>. in the Children Congregatn.

into the Congregation, what I enjoyed by all them blessed
Days, conducted me happily a long Time. <date>A</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>o</date></hi><date>. 1754</date>
as dear <persname>Johannes</persname> begun to labour in the Boys Choir, was
I one of them 18 Boys, with whom he made a Covenant,
which I shall never forget. 
<date>A</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>o</date></hi><date>. 1755.</date> I partaketh the first Time on our Lords Supper
but soon I was <sic>excomunicated</sic>  <corr>excommunicated</corr> again & came in a 
School wherein I weepd so long till our Saviour brought
me in my blessed Path again. <date>A</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>o</date></hi><date>. 56.</date> I was received

among the young Men, there our Saviour opened my
Heart that I could speak open & sincere w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>. my Brethren,
My Eyes became not dry the whole Day, o, and how ashamed
was I, as I heard I was among the Number, which are to have
a Choir <sic>Comunion</sic>  <corr>Communion</corr> this very Day. From thence I count a new
Period of my Life, because our Saviour comforted me over my
whole Heart & I came in a happy <sic>Conexion</sic>  <corr>Connection</corr> with Him.
<date>A</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>o</date></hi><date>. 50.</date> I came hither to <placename>Nisky</placename>, & the <date>25</date><hi rend="superscript"><date>th</date></hi><date>. of June</date> received 
among the single B<hi rend="superscript">rn</hi>. to a great Blessing for my Heart.
From this time, I found my Want of more Soldidity & the
Necessity of a chaste Soul & to become one Spirit w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>. him.
When our Sav<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Nearness When I am <sic>blest</sic>  <corr>blessed</corr> w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>. the Nearness
of my Sav<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. then I take this Opportunity to converse
with <add>him</add> about my low most low & simple <sic>Occurences</sic>  <corr>Occurrences</corr>, 
& so pray to give me in all my Doings just the
Thoughts, so he would think when he was in my
Stead & this <sic>allways</sic>  <corr>always</corr> keeps me in a happy Conversation 
with him & in this Manner & came since through
very happily. I am a <sic>Siner</sic>  <corr>Sinner</corr> in a great Degree, but
He bestowed Mercy on poor me!

He has been a sincere & true Heart & a willing <sic>Scholor</sic>  <corr>Scholar</corr>
of the Grace of Christ. Every Body could perceive the
last Years the sweet Delight & Peace his Heart
was in; and he <sic>knowd</sic>  <corr>knew</corr> himself as a Sinner, so he
took himself as the meanest among his Brethren.
