them uprightly the state of my heart, giving them
an account of all my Circumstances from the time
of my awakening to that day, and of what I now
wanted viz: hearts fellowship with Children of
God, who had the same view with me, here upon
they all became very social and hearty, and we had
much conversation together. I told them at last, that
from this time they should no more get rid of me

reached my Father's ears, and <emotion>he was very angry
with me,</emotion> because the B<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">rn</hi></hi><hi rend="superscript"></hi> were at that time much
<emotion>hated and despised in the Country.</emotion> The King had
likewise published several edicts against them
amounting to a persecution, whereas the Ritists were
<sic>carressed</sic>  <corr>caressed</corr> and promoted at Court. My Father wrote
me an angry Letter, and ordered me to come home
immediately, and if I did not, he was determined 
to send me no more money for my <sic>subsistance</sic>  <corr>subsistence</corr> in 
the University, I saw plainly that if I did go 
home, and follow my Father's views for my 
advancement, in the world, <emotion>I should be a lost man.</emotion>
I therefore wrote him a dutiful letter, and gave him
such reasons for my not coming, as I thought
would satisfy him, but they did not, and he was
as good as his word, and never sent me any more
