<persname>S</persname><hi rend="superscript"><persname>r</persname></hi><persname>. </persname><hi rend="underline"><persname>Steman's</persname> Mother</hi> <hi rend="underline"><date>June 18</date><hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript"><date>th</date></hi></hi><hi rend="superscript"></hi><date> 1779</date></hi>
in the <hi rend="underline">86<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">th</hi></hi><hi rend="superscript"></hi> Ye</hi>a<hi rend="underline">r of her age.</hi>

By Means of these few Lines I will in Spirit convey my
heartiest Salutation to my d<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></hi>. Aunt, & also the affecting,
yet at the same Time comfortable Account, that y<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></hi> beloved
Mother, our d<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></hi><hi rend="superscript"></hi> & venerable Grand Mother has been softly &
happily [illegible] translated into the Arms & Bosom of our
dear Saviour. In her old age <emotion>she was serene & respectable,
tho' in her own Eyes always quite poor & lowly,</emotion> with a Heart at,
tatch'd to & longing for her unseen Bridegroom; her <emotion>constant
Sighs</emotion> were, that our d<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></hi><hi rend="superscript"></hi> Saviour might besprinkle her poor 
Heart with his precious Blood, have Mercy upon her & receive
her graciously. Oft she uttered the Desire, that, if it pleased him,
He might take her soon to himself. The Faithfulness & simpli,
city, which we perceived in her, gave us oft a deep Impression.
He, who understands the Eyes Dropping & the sick Heart's Throb,
bing, has certainly accomplished the Desires of her Heart in a 
gracious Manner, according to her earnest Concern. Now she
rests in his Wounds, & is at home with the Lord for ever.
Her last Sickness was of a short Duration. On <date>Whitsunday</date>,
being at Church with <persname>M</persname><hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript"><persname>r</persname></hi></hi><persname> Carstens</persname>, she was seized with a
Vomiting, which seemed to have arose from the riding in the
Carriage; however it left a Faintness behind: she then be,
sought our Sav<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></hi> to grant her the Favour to spare her from a 
long & tedious Sick-Bed; and even in this Respect he has
granted her her Desire; for, she was for the most Part of the
Time able to sit in her Chair, & even to walk about a little
in the House. Her Thoughts were directly Here, that her End was
approaching, & she possessed the Faculties of her Mind & her Senses
as perfect as before. Some Days before her Departure she gave
