dread, that I should not be happy came upon me,</emotion>
did I call to mind my happy years of Childhood,
wishing that I had departed this Life at that Period.
At the preparation for the H. Com<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>. in the Luther
-an Church, I <sic>resotred</sic> <corr>restored</corr> anew to devote myself to
the Lord Jesus, and to live to him; & at the Con-
-firmation I promised the Minister in a solemn
manner, that from thence forward I would live
unto God in the world, & most fervently wished
for a renewal of my baptismal Grace, upon
which he blessed me with imposition of hands
for the first enjoyment of the H. Com<hi rend="superscript">n</hi>. During
this transaction in the presence of the whole
Congregation <emotion>I trembled and shed many tears,</emotion>
and went 4 weeks after, the first time to the
H. Com<hi rend="underline"><hi rend="superscript">n</hi></hi> with my Parents, which<emotion> I enjoyed
with great awe & reverence for this highest
Good.</emotion> Now it lay with weight on my mind to
become a Child of God, & to live to him in the world,
but I got into an anxious legal working, strove
to find happiness in many ways, without seeking
