Grasman: Tho' it cost me much to come to
a resolution, having settled it in my mind to
remain single: yet it became clear to me, that
this was the way, by which our Savr. meant
to bring me to the Brns Congn., and my Parents
having given their consent, we were join'd in
holy matrimony Augt. 2d. 1748, & set off soon after
for Helgeland. We covenanted together to live alone
for our Savior, & felt his sweet nearness in so rich
a measure, that heart & eyes often overflowed
with shame and gratitude
. Augt. 3d 1749 our
Savr. gave us a Son, whom we dedicated to him
as his property from his birth: he departed
this life in the year 1766 in a very happy man
-ner, following my Step Daughter, who in 1757
had gone happily to our Savior. In the beginning
of 1750 my dear Husband requested his dis-
-mission; but met with many difficulties; at
that time the Brn were much despised in Den
-monte
, and whoever went to the Congn, was
obliged to leave all his property behind. In order
to keep him in the Country, Government offered
him any office he should chuse  choose. After refusing
every offer, he at length obtained his dismission
He was then commisioned by the Congn. to sell

Register.
