Subject, notwithstanding it is the only one of its Sort.
We confess ourselves Christians, and confess that our Salvation
flows from Jesus and his Cross; and although we allow this
we are ashamed to speak of it, and at the same time acknow-
ledge it to be the weightiest Subject of all.
God and his holy Angels, the whole heavens esteem the
Cross of Jesus as a Subject worthy of their attention.
Mankind alone, for whom, out of Love, he hung upon the Cross,
bless his to speak of it, and even forgets it; and suks[?] to prove
in public writing, that we could and should speak of many
other Subjects of more importance than the Cross of Jesus.
Are not the very Heavens amazed and shocked at so great
a sin. If ever this Admonition was needful, it is certainly so
now in a mnifold Sense. O World! that in so many Milli-
ons of different ways and means, suckest[?] thy Rest and plea-
sure without attaining to it! O World!, which so eagerly
desirest things Great, things uncomon! O World!, that
daily hastenest nearer to the Grace and Eternity! Ah turn
thy thoughts and Attention to our Saviour on the True" look
upon him thy Life and health; behold him sink in death;
look in Spirit steadfastly upon his Cross. Thou certainly can-
not be any thing of more importance to thou, that View can
and ought to be thy Soul's healing. A certain Another says,
"To look steadfastly at the bright Sun, weakens and hurts
"the Sight, but the more you look at Christ the Sun of Right-
"eousness, the stronger your age of faith will grow. You have
"inmeasurable Reasons & Occasions why you should fix your eyes
