vised him to return to Europe. After
fervent prayer
we felt freedom to follow
this advice,
& having earnestly commended
our baptized Negroes whom we affectionate-
ly loved & whose love towards us we felt, to
the Shepherd, & Bishop of our Souls, in
hopes to meet them once around the throne
of the Lamb, we set sail in May 1802, &
had on the whole a good & prosperous
voyage. My husband's health improved
much on the sea, & in the beginning of
July we arrived with our dr Brn & Srs
in London, glad & thankful to the Lord,
for all his mercies. My dear partner was
still spared to me after this, upwards of 10
years, & we had the favour to serve our
Savior in several English Congns first
for a short time in Bedford, then for 3
years in Bedford Leominster, & a year
& a quarter in Gomersall where a par-
ticular blessing was laced  placed on my husband's
testimony, & where the Chapel was ge-
nerally crowded with attentive hearers,
But the keen air & hilly situation of
the place did not suit his debilitated con-
stitiuation, & from thence we had a call
to serve the Congn at London where we
