increasing pleasure as we gained the love &
confidence of the Brn & Srs more & more.
My greatest trial here arose from the build-
ing of a new Congn house & Chapel, as
I felt myself inadequate to the task,
Having put off the undertaking till it
became dangerous to sleep under the roof,
I ventured to begin the work in the name
of God our Savior, to whom I prayed for
insight & courage. Tho' my faith & pati-
ence were frequently put to the trial, I
saw at last both the House & Chapel
brought under cover, & then it pleased
our Savior to call me to be Labourer
of the Congn at Bath. I felt much pain
in parting with this little flock, for we
loved each other tenderly,
& it pleased our
Savior to bless my ministry. I was con-
strained to bless his holy name for the
support he had given us, & for his being
a God who will abundantly pardon.
In Decr 1792 I and my dear wife arrived
in Bath, where we met with a most
cordial reception. The first year of my
service here, caused me many groans,
sighs, & tears,
but praised be the name
